FAQ's
Do you have a question for The Cupcake Critic? Send your questions to: DCCupcakeCritic@gmail.com!
Q: How do you choose where to go for your reviews?
A: Many of my selections come as suggestions from my readers who are ardent cupcake lovers! I also find shops through research and social media but I always research a bakery before I go unless I hap upon something new.
Q: Do you bake?
Q: Who are your favorite cupcakes in the city?
A: There are so many! You have to read the reviews to keep up because it changes with each new experience. But I wrote an article about it...check it out!
Q: What made you start the blog?
A: I started the blog as a creative outlet from the rigors of owning a business and crunching numbers. I also wanted a hobby that was my very own; where I could express myself in a creative format. I chose cupcakes because I've always been fanatical about cakes and cupcakes!
Q: How old is the blog?
A: It's hard to say because I started writing informal reviews in March of 2011. By August of 2011, I transferred all my reviews to Tumblr, started a Twitter page, and an official Facebook page. In December of 2011 I purchased a domain name and began to transfer my reviews again to Blogger. In January 2012 I launched TheCupcakeCritic.com.
Q: Are you a full-time blogger?
A: No, I own a marketing and consulting firm in Suburban, MD. In addition I'm a real estate broker in DC and New York so I'm pretty busy when not working on the blog.

A: No, the pics that are posted on Facebook come from bakers, Cupcake- Lovers, fellow bloggers, and my Pinterest board. I love showcasing the awesome work that bakers do and with all diligence I attribute the pics to their corresponding bakers. However if a pic is posted and the bakery isn't attributed please let me know immediately and I will correct it.

A: Despite my best efforts I wasn't cut out for baking but for eating and critiquing. I am a great cook who dabbles with Tex-Mex, Southern, and Asian-inspired food. I can also bake cobblers, cookies, and cornbread from recipes. My coconut rum brownies are pretty awesome too but come from a box.
