Playing tea set was one of my favorite things to play when I was younger. A few weeks back I got an email from Card Cuts; a UK based company who  makes cupcake carriers, cupcake handbags, and postable cupcake boxes. These cutie-pie bags come in several styles and colors including my beloved pink. A pack of 10 cupcake handbags/ carriers costs $8.86 which is a steal. Baby stuff never gets old and seeing that I'm a the last of the Mahicans among my friends (all happily married with bambinos), I find myself doing a lot of "Auntie" shopping. This cupcake rattle by Fisher Price was too cute to pass up especially with the baby shower of a college chum in a few weeks. I know...Halloween is over but I saw this cute dog costume while I was downloading music on Amazon the other day and I had to share. This costume comes with a cupcake body and cherry hat. It's suitable for dogs ranging from 8-13 pounds and retails for about $24 + S&H. Each animal is different so they will either love you or secretly despise you should you dress them as a cupcake (and send it as a Christmas Card)...you make the call.

Saturday kicked off  the Halloween festivities and celebrations giving me the option of having multiple costumes! This year, I seriously thought about being a delectable cupcake, dressed in all pink with a white headdress to serve as frosting. Fortunately I found this little baby on Amazon! This pink polyester dress comes with armbands and a cupcake headdress to make the look complete. Although the tights are sold separately, the dress retails for $46 and is available for overnight shipping.

Coming back from New York, I was up to my eyeballs in cupcakes. As much as I would have loved to have eaten them all, I knew that some of these cuppies would have to be stored. While visiting CatchingFireflies.com, my sister found the cutest cupcake containers priced sweetly at $4.95. The plastic lids twist off and on holding your cupcake securely. Choose between pink or green containers which are perfect for a cupcake-on-the-go or when making a cupcake run and you don't want to smear your frosting.

In an effort to prepare for Fall, I've come across some really awesome cupcake stencils from Williams and Sonoma. The stencils come in four shapes: cornucopia, acorn, turkey, and autumn leaf. The cute stencils will add some pizazz to your caramel apple or pumpkin spice cupcakes. While looking up yummy cupcakes for my trip to NY, I stopped by the website of Dylan's Candy Bar. First-Dylan's is awesome! In fact, it's second generation awesome. Dylan's Candy Bar is helmed by Dylan Lauren: the daughter of Americana architect, Ralph Lauren. Dylan's Candy Bar serves classic candy treats with a swagged-out adult twist (yes, I said swag....) Scouring Pinterest for my weekly cupcake fix, I came across this cupcake upholstered chair. This is SOOO cute on so many levels. If I walked into a cupcakes shop (or someone's home for that matter), and saw this chair, I would never leave! Following the Pinterest path led me to TerenceandBecky.com which routes to Javamama.com. Sadly, the buck stopped there so I can't tell you where to get it but the visual, for me, speaks volumes. Namaste.

I have to admit Cupcake Lovers, out of all the things that I've featured on Cool Cupcake Stuff, this has to be my favorite. Who wouldn't love to receive a care package or present sealed in cupcake laden duct tape? I would! *frantically waves hand* As a matter of fact, the kid in me would have to resist the urge not to cover everything that I owned in cupcake duct tape! Cool Cupcake Stuff: White Chocolate Meyer Lemon Baking Mix

So, I know what you are thinking, "Critic...what's so cool about cake mix? And didn't you feature cake mix last week?" Well my darlings, this cake mix is amazing! 


Over the weekend I met a wonderful woman, Essala Lowe, owner of Dove Chocolate Discoveries and was introduced to numerous chocolate based products that simply melt in your mouth. Everything from cinnamon dusted chocolate almonds to chocolate raspberry martinis (pre-mixed) and even chardonnay chocolate brittle -decadent doesn't begin to describe. Therefore, such goodness to be captured in a white chocolate cupcake with spriggs of lemon....? Yes, I'm sharing alright. 


The cake mix promises "an exotic cross between lemon and mandarin orange that give you a sweeter,fresher lemon taste" And I'm all about that! I recently found out that I'm going to be an Auntie!! This has led me to scour every internet site looking for the perfect baby shower gift. In my quest I came across the Smart Snacks Sorting Shapes Cupcakes. These fun cupcake shapes teach children ages 2-4, triangles, circles, clovers and half-moons. Last week I got a text from Stacey, a pal of mine and author of the Travelinga Trips blog. She sent me a pic of a gold and diamond cupcake pendant going for about $189 from Macy's. Astonished, she asked me if I had seen anything like this. I assured Stacey that this was the tip of the iceberg in cupcake pandemonium.

DKNY Cupcake Inspired Perfume

Before The Critic graduated to DVF, she was a die-hard Donna Karan fan (and still is)! Everything from DKNY clothing to fragrances (much of my 20's smelled like DKNY original and Cashmere Mist) to the overall philosophy that clothing should be comfortable, functional and elegant- I love Donna Karan. So to hear that she has a cupcake inspired fragrance collection called, DKNY Sweet Delicious, only deepens my kindred spirit with the woman and the brand. 


The collection, which debuted February 2012, features three scents: pink macaroon, creamy meringue and tarty lime. Pink macaroon has notes of nectarine, kumquat, rose marzipan, pomegranate, amber and tonka. Creamy meringue features notes of lemon cream, bergamont, 'crepe suzette' accord, freesia, passion flower, frangiopani, cedar, white amber and musk. The final fragrance, tart key line, integrates orange, bergamont, mandarin, neroli, ginger, basil and violet leaf. Presumably this is a continuation of Karan initial flirtation with dessert-inspired scents with her Candy Apples fragrance. 


The eau de parfume spray ranges from $38-$62 for 1-3.4 oz bottles- cupcakes not included. Sadly, it's only available at select retailers so I suggest a thorough internet search or visit here.
